I purchased the Graycliff G2 PGX toro (6 x 50) on a whim, never having previously tried any Graycliff products. Subsequently, I had no idea what to expect as I punched a hole in the cap. I became a little concerned as the wrapper near the head cracked when I tried to remove the puncher. I chalked it up to being a bit dried out and proceeded to light it up.
The first few puffs were unremarkable, but as it burned down about a quarter of an inch, the cigar really started asserting itself. Along with the basic wood and nut taste, I began to notice some other very pleasant flavors. Caramel and coffee were detectable with each puff and the longer to cigar burned, the stronger the flavors were.
The smoke itself was buttery smooth, creamy, and light. Plentiful, but not overpowering. I held the cigar up to my nose, sniffed the smoke and was blown away with the aroma: it was fresh and floral, and reminded me of when I used to smell the inside of the lilies at church every Easter.
The draw of the cigar was great. It burned evenly and required no correction throughout the duration. I absolutely loved the cigar and will definitely pick up more if the opportunity arises. Although it doesn’t quite make it into the five star range, it is the closest of any cigar I’ve tried. If you’re looking for something with spice the Graycliff G2 PGX isn’t for you, but if you like a mild cigar with good bouquet of flavors I whole-heartedly recommend it.
